Ebilade Ekerefe’s Courtesy Call To Bayelsa State Center For Youth Development Signals New Dawn
A former Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council, Mr. Ebilade Ekerefe, paid a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa State Center for Youth Development, describing the engagement as a symbolic step toward reconciliation, peace and collective progress.
Ekerefe, who was received by the Director General of the Center, Comrade Robert Joel Igali, said the visit was aimed at putting past misunderstandings behind and charting a new course anchored on harmony, cohesion and development, irrespective of political differences.
Speaking during the visit, Ekerefe recalled past experiences shared with the Director General, noting that while both were once “in the trenches” pursuing individual ambitions, God has preserved their lives and guided them to their current positions of responsibility.
He emphasized that disagreements are inevitable among humans but stressed that reconciliation in the interest of leadership responsibility and the future of young people remains paramount.
“Misunderstandings are bound to occur, but the ability to reconcile our differences for the sake of those who look up to us as leaders and for the future we all desire is more imperative,” he said.
Ekerefe commended the leadership and management of the Center for their efforts at repositioning the institution for productivity and efficient service delivery. He specifically praised the Executive Secretary, Barrister Ayibakuro Igbeta; Deputy Directors for Central and West, Hon. Temple Newman and Engineer Lawrence Lokri; and the Deputy Director (Female), Mrs. Ebi Kutu, for their dedication and commitment.
He further assured the management of his continued support and solidarity in advancing youth development initiatives across Bayelsa State.
The visit was seen as a significant gesture toward fostering unity and strengthening collaboration in the collective pursuit of youth empowerment and sustainable development in the state.
