Ekeremor RDA Chairman Hails Diri, Lists Projects Delivered Under Governor’s Watch
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA – The Chairman of the Ekeremor Rural Development Authority, RDA, Mrs. Deme Debra Eriye-Pamosoo, Esq., has commended Governor Douye Diri for what she described as a remarkable push for grassroots development across Bayelsa State.
Eriye-Pamosoo, who spoke on behalf of the people of Ekeremor RDA, said the intervention of the Diri administration through the revitalisation of the RDAs had brought government closer to rural and riverine communities that had suffered years of neglect.
She also commended the Deputy Governor, Hon. Pastor Peter Peretuobo Akpe, Ph.D., for supporting the administration’s grassroots development drive, saying the policy had demonstrated that communities, regardless of their location, could benefit directly from government.
According to her, the revitalisation of the RDAs has not only strengthened local leadership but also opened the door for the execution of critical infrastructure and other development projects in previously underserved communities.
She listed some of the projects delivered in Ekeremor RDA within the first three years of the present administration to include:
- Renovation of a six-classroom block at Temekiri Zion.
- Renovation of the temporary Secretariat of the Ekeremor Rural Development Authority at Temekiri Zion.
- Construction of a 200-metre by six-metre concrete walkway at Isrealo Zion.
- Construction of a solar-powered borehole and steel tank stand at Modern Secondary School, Ekeremor Federated Community, Ward 8.
- Construction of a 200-metre concrete walkway at Ekeremor Federated Community, Ayama 6.
The RDA chairman said the projects, apart from the Ayama 6 walkway, had been completed and commissioned within the first three years of the Diri administration.
She explained that the 200-metre concrete walkway at Ayama 6 was the only project yet to be commissioned, adding that arrangements were underway for its official commissioning.
Eriye-Pamosoo said the projects had gone beyond physical infrastructure, describing them as evidence of the administration’s determination to take development to the doorsteps of rural dwellers.
She said the interventions had also improved the confidence of residents in government, particularly in communities that had previously felt disconnected from the mainstream of development.
The Ekeremor RDA chairman expressed appreciation to Governor Diri and his deputy for what she described as a historic focus on rural development, stressing that the impact of the administration’s policies was being felt across communities within the RDA.
She added that the development recorded in the area had strengthened the people’s confidence in government, stating that the people of Ekeremor RDA had consequently pledged 100 per cent support and votes for all APC candidates in the 2027 general election.
