Gloria Diri Leads Women in Praise as Bayelsa White Concert Holds Sixth Edition
By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA – Dr Mrs Gloria Diri, wife of Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, has reaffirmed the importance of thanksgiving and worship, describing praise as a way of acknowledging God’s sovereignty and expressing gratitude for His blessings on the state.
She made the remarks following the sixth edition of When Women Praise and Worship, popularly known as The White Concert, held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa.
Gloria Diri said the annual gathering had provided an opportunity for women, clergy members and psalmists across Bayelsa State to unite in praise and worship, acknowledging God as the supreme ruler over the state.
According to her, the initiative, which she has led for six years, reflects a collective commitment to expressing gratitude to God while trusting Him for greater blessings in the years ahead.
“All we owe God in Bayelsa State is praise and adoration,” she said.
She described praising God through thanksgiving and worship as an encounter that strengthens faith and acknowledges His almightiness.
The governor’s wife expressed optimism about the future of the state, saying she believed more blessings lay ahead for Bayelsa.
She also invited residents to participate in the seventh edition of the annual worship gathering scheduled for next year.
The When Women Praise and Worship concert has become an avenue for women and other Christian faithful to come together in spiritual fellowship, thanksgiving and worship.
