HIV Response: NACA S’South Coordinator Calls for Group Involvement

Stakeholders such as implementing partners, policy makers, the media and government agencies involved in HIV response have been tasked to adopt models to communicate modern innovations for the prevention of HIV/AIDS.

South-South Zonal Coordinator, Dr Uduak Daniel came out with this during a three day training on National HIV Self Testing and Pre-exposure Prophylaxis, PreP Communication Strategy held in Asaba, the Delta state capital.

Dr. Daniel said the objective of the training is to build the capacity of stakeholders and partners on the implementation of the strategy in the region as well as promoting emerging innovations and facilitate the projection of partners agenda in the HIV response space.

A Communication Specialist, Fayman Omini while delivery a lecture on the theory that drives the strategy said the strategy serves as a blueprint for those in the HIV response, to increase interventions.

Omini emphasized the socio ecological model that focuses on addressing concerns around individuals for change to take place and increase in the uptake of HIV Self Testing and PreP.

He called on the media and to use their platforms to increase the awareness of the benefits of using these modern HIV innovations.
