IYC President Charges New NDDC Board to Carry Out Needs Assessment


Report by Grace Freeman – The newly inaugurated Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC board has be charged to immediately carry out a NEEDS assessment that will be impact positively on the region.

Comrade Peter Igbifa, President, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Worldwide dropped the charge as he welcomed the members of new NDDC board at Port Harcourt International Airport.

The IYC henchman said the first mandate of the board to payoff all outstanding debt owed contractor whose jobs have completed and for payment.

He added that the board should award contract that will impact on the economic wellbeing of the Niger Delta Region without delay.

Comrade Igbifa commended members of the board for going through the rigorous processes and duly inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The IYC president extended hand of friendship to the board member and mounted a symbolic muffler on Chief Samuel Ogbuku with chants of solidarity adding that Chief Ogbuku is a product of the struggle whose commitment included the fight for NDDC creation hence, there is hope for performance.

“I strongly believe that with Chief Samuel Ogbuku as MD, there shall be massive change that will be experienced in the shortest possible time”, Comrade Igbifa added.
