NAPTIP Bayelsa State Command Joins Bayelsa Government in 2025 16 Days Activism Road Walk
The Bayelsa State Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Friday joined the Ministry of Women Affairs in a “Prosperity Walk” to commemorate the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
The five-kilometre walk, which kicked off at 6:30 a.m. from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Junction, brought together top government officials and stakeholders championing the fight against violence.
In attendance were the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Akpe, the Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Daniel Igali, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, and other senior officials.
The State Commander of NAPTIP, Mr. Fadeware Timiebiowei, was represented by the Head of the Public Enlightenment Unit, Mr. Wariebi Sambo.
Mr. Sambo commended the state government and the Ministry of Women Affairs for organizing the walk, noting that such activities help to strengthen advocacy, public awareness, and collaboration in the ongoing fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and human trafficking.
He further urged Bayelsans to actively support NAPTIP’s efforts to curb trafficking and all forms of violence against women and children across the state.
A group photograph with participants formed the high point of the event.
