
NCDMB Graduates 305 Trainees Under Human Capacity Development Programme at CMOTD
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has graduated 305 trainees from its Human Capacity Development Specialty Training Programme at the Centre for Marine & Offshore Technology Development (CMOTD). The ceremony, held yesterday at the Amphitheater of Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, showcased the Board’s continued investment in building world-class local manpower for Nigeria’s energy and maritime sectors.
The graduates demonstrated competencies across several critical technical fields, including transformer maintenance, big data analytics, pressure vessels and heat exchangers design, as well as automation and control systems. The presentations reflected months of intensive training designed to align Nigerian professionals with global industry standards.
In his welcome address, the CEO of CMOTD, Engr. Vitalis Ahiakwo Okechukwu, reaffirmed the Centre’s mission of strengthening indigenous capacity and commended NCDMB for sustaining programmes that empower Nigerians with high-demand technical skills.
Delivering a detailed presentation on the training modules, Dr. Elakpa Ada Augustine, Head of Research & Development and Training Coordinator, highlighted the structure, goals, and expected industry impact of the programme. He noted that the combination of hands-on experience and theoretical grounding would position the trainees for immediate relevance in their respective fields.
Representing the NCDMB, Mr. Blessing Ekpe restated the Board’s unwavering support for strategic partnerships that drive local content advancement. “The NCDMB remains committed to building a skilled Nigerian workforce for the energy industry,” he affirmed in his goodwill message.
The ceremony also featured a farewell charge by Prof. R. N. Okparanma, who urged the graduates to uphold excellence and professionalism as they transition into the workforce. Awards of Excellence were presented to outstanding participants who distinguished themselves during the programme.
Also present at the event was Mr. Egoli Ebikombo-Owei of the Corporate Communications Division of NCDMB, who joined other guests in celebrating the achievements of the graduating trainees.
