Pastor Enoch Adeboye Visits Uma Ukpai’s Widow
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Reverend Uma Ukpai, describing the departed evangelist as a “true general in the army of God.”
During the visit to the Ukpai residence, Pastor Adeboye shared heartfelt words about his long-time friend and brother in ministry, recalling Reverend Ukpai’s unwavering faith, humility, and lifelong dedication to the gospel.
“Reverend Uma Ukpai was not just a minister of the gospel, he was a true general in the army of our God, a man of unshakable faith, quiet strength, and uncommon humility,” Adeboye said. “His life was a living sermon, one that spoke louder than words — a story of service, love for God’s people, and steadfast devotion to the Kingdom.”
He comforted the widow, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and the entire Ukpai family, praying that the Lord would strengthen and uphold them through their time of grief.
“My friend has not died; he has only changed address, moving from the field of battle to the presence of his Commander-in-Chief,” Pastor Adeboye remarked. “He is home, he is at rest, he is in the arms of God Almighty.”
Reverend Uma Ukpai, renowned for his decades-long evangelistic ministry and humanitarian work, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of faith and revival across Nigeria and beyond.
