PFN Organizes 2-Day Seminar on Agriculture, Food Security in Yenagoa

Realising the role of agriculture in ensuring food security in Bayelsa State, the state chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) is organising a two-day seminar on Agriculture/Food Security for pastors with the theme: “Empowering the Christian Leader,” holding at Kingdom Grace Mission, opposite Nigerian Local Content Tower, Oxbow Lake Swali-Yenagoa.

Briefing newsmen at the church premises on Tuesday, Chairman of PFN Re-Branding Committee and General Superintendent of Kingdom Grace Mission, Apostle Timiebi Gaius Kiyaramo said the event, scheduled for 10am on Thursday and Friday this week, is part of series of seminars and workshops planned to sensitise Christians leaders on the need to be engaged agriculture.

He said the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief David Alagoa is Special Guest of Honour, with Wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Deaconess (Mrs) Ayibapreye Konbowei Benson, as Mother of the Day.

According to Apostle Kiyaramo, resource persons at the event include, renowned consultants, Pastor Ebi Emarah and Jerome Emmanuel who will conduct training in selected areas, such as fishery, snailry, rabbitry, poultry, piggery and best cropping methods, adding that the time is ripe for Christian leaders to key into the agricultural vision of the state governor Senator Douye Diri in his drive to boost food security.

Other dignitaries expected at the event are: PFN State Chairman, Prof. Prosper Ayawei, Special Adviser to the governor on Religious Matters, Rev. Godspower Asingba, Chief Historian and Archivist, Dr Stephen Olali, Mrs Jane Alerk and the General Superintendent of Redeemed Glory Church, Pst. Tam Seth Eyedoude.
