Sam Dede Announces Return of Nollywood Classic ‘Issakaba’ 25 Years Later
By Richard Emi, ENTERTAINMENT DESK – Veteran Nollywood actor Sam Dede has announced the return of the popular action film Issakaba, 25 years after the original movie captivated Nigerian audiences.
Dede, who played the iconic character Ebube Issakaba in the original film, made the announcement on his Instagram page, unveiling a new instalment titled Issakaba: The Return.
The upcoming movie will see Dede reprise his celebrated role as Ebube Issakaba as he takes on a new battle against evil.
The original Issakaba series became one of Nollywood’s notable action productions, earning a strong following for its blend of traditional African beliefs, supernatural elements and action.
According to the announcement, Issakaba: The Return is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on November 13, 2026.
The return of the franchise is expected to generate excitement among fans who grew up watching the original films and have fond memories of Dede’s portrayal of Ebube Issakaba.
With the revival coming a quarter of a century after the original, Issakaba: The Return marks a major comeback for one of Nollywood’s memorable action characters.
