Topic: FINANCIAL UPRIGHTNESS: A SECRET OF FINANCIAL PROSPERITY

Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

SCRIPTURE: And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich. Genesis 14:22, 23.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

Uprightness of life is a major key to outstanding existence in life and destiny. One aspect of uprightness is financial integrity. The Scripture gives us examples of people who were positively affected by financial integrity or uprightness. These were people who refused to take money or possession by unrighteous means. And it is good to look at their example for our learning and admonition.

Abraham was one of such persons.

Genesis 14:22, 23 says, And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich.

Abraham made up his mind not to touch what was not his. He even refused to take what the king of Sodom legally gave to him, out of spiritual consideration and principle. And as a result of his financial integrity, the Scripture made it clear that Abraham was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold (Genesis 13:2).

Genesis 24:1 says, And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.”

His secret was his refusal to take what was not his. He refused to take what God did not give him. He refused to take what labour or favour did not give him. Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

Beloved, it is financial uprightness not to take what you were not given. It is crookedness to take what you are not licensed to take.

Remember this: Financial uprightness is a secret of financial prosperity.

DAILY READING: Hosea 4-6

REFLECTION: What does not belong to you cannot add to your life. It only takes from your life. If God can’t give it to you, it is not good for your life.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: May God keep far from you what does not belong to you and may He draw close to you, all that is yours in Jesus’ Name.
