1. Knowledgeable

A good coach must have relevant and adequate knowledge on the area where the trainee needs to be coached.

2 Observant

A coach had the ability to recognize when a trainee is going down in order to pull the trainee up. was under the water longer than she normally could.

3. Patient Communicator

One of the important keys in any relationship is communication.  Coach must be a clear and patient communicator.  The trainee needs to encode what is been communicated and therefore, there is need to be patient with them.

4. Desire to Help

A good life coach must have a strong desire to help in times of trouble. Must have have ability to save from harm that you cannot see. They come as problem solvers, solution and pathway out of any problem.

5. Willingness to Share

Your life coach must be willing to share skills, thoughts, learnings and relevant information that will help you scale through life’s journey, career, and business.

6. Motivational

One important aspects of coaching or mentoring is motivation.  Getting a trainee to its peak in his/her chosen career comes with loads of motivational talk and skills.

7. Visionary and Futuristic

Like the saying, what child cannot see standing on tree, an elder who sits on a chair can see it.  So, every good coach helps to paint a future for his/her trainee at every time. The coach must be goal and result-Oriented.

They always talk about the future no matter how good the present is. They are visionary and points your actions in the present to the future.


USA’s Anita Alvarez sank slowly to the bottom of the pool at the World Championships in Budapest recently. Her coach Andrea Fuentes, scanned the pool deck and made a split-second decision: she dove in to save her.

This coach acted while others were still watching on the sideline We have too many young folks drowning right before us especially at work, in the church etc. We watch as many walk away and unfortunately, some, even taking their own lives due to the pressure that comes from navigating life’s challenges.
