
APC Primaries: Candidates Emerge for Bayelsa House of Representatives Seats
Yenagoa – All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has concluded its primary elections for the House of Representatives seats across the state, with party faithful electing candidates to fly the APC flag in the forthcoming general elections.
The primaries, which witnessed participation from delegates and stakeholders across the various federal constituencies, produced winners in all five constituencies in the state.
For the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Hon. Bernard Kenebai emerged victorious to secure the APC ticket after gaining the support of party delegates in the constituency.
In Ogbia Federal Constituency, Barr. Jude Rex Ogbuku clinched the APC House of Representatives ticket, positioning himself as the party’s standard bearer ahead of the general elections.
Similarly, Hon. Oforji Oboku emerged winner of the APC primary for the Yenagoa/Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal Constituency seat following the conclusion of the party’s internal electoral process.
In the Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency contest, Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite secured victory to emerge as the APC candidate for the House of Representatives election.
Also, for the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei was declared winner of the APC primary election, earning the mandate to represent the party in the forthcoming polls.
Party leaders and supporters across the state have described the primaries as peaceful and reflective of the democratic spirit within the APC, while calling on all aspirants and stakeholders to unite in preparation for the main elections.
The emergence of the candidates is expected to set the stage for intense political campaigns across Bayelsa State as parties begin strategizing ahead of the general elections.
