Bayelsa Government Tasks Corpers to Make Contribution for Development
The Bayelsa State government has urged youth corpers posted into the state to give in their best during the one year mandatory service year as a contribution to the development of the state.
Executive Assistant to the Governor on NYSC matters, Mr Wisdom Bayeri made this known when he spoke to newsmen saying that within the one year period the corp members should invest their time in meaningful ventures that would be beneficial to themselves and the state.
He urged them to see Bayelsa state as their home for the period of the serving their fatherland while pointing out that the prosperity administration would continue to ensure their safety.
“Corp members should understand that they are here to serve the people and the nation, it is a selfless service but by way of encouragement, we expect that some of their places of primary assignment will encourage them ”
He further urged the state government and private institutions that are in the habit of rejecting corp members to have a rethink adding that they should appreciate them by giving them stipends.
