Gov. Diri, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, *Hon. Alfred Kemepado, commended corps members, whom he described as outstanding individuals whose resilience, diligence, and strength have played a crucial role in fostering the progress of the nation.

He emphasized that the NYSC scheme is a vital national initiative that transforms young Nigerians into invaluable assets to the country.

He also highlighted core values such as prudence, integrity, and exemplary conduct, urging corps members to embody these virtues as they serve the country with dedication.

He further reiterated that Bayelsa State remains a conducive environment for personal and professional development, pledging the state’s full support to corps members throughout their service year by providing necessary opportunities and resources while emphasizing the need for corps members to leverage their time at the camp for mentorship (both to mentor others and to be mentored) thereby fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Bayelsa, *Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity,* in her welcome address, emphasized that the orientation program is carefully designed to inculcate the spirit of selfless service and expose corps members to meaningful interactions that would serve them well during their service year and beyond.

She highlighted the diverse training activities aimed at boosting both physical and mental agility and providing valuable experiences.

Mrs. Okpalifo urged corps members to comport themselves responsibly throughout the orientation and beyond, noting that their conduct reflects not only on themselves but also on the NYSC scheme as a whole.

She went futher to express appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, for his contributions towards infrastructural development in the camp and his unwavering support for the NYSC in Bayelsa.

She humbly solicited continued government support to ensure the scheme’s sustained success in the state.
