Bayelsa NUJ Holds 2022 Press Week, With Prosperity Walk With Governor Diri on Thursday
The Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ has concluded all arrangements to hold it’s 2022 Press Week as part of activities to engage media practitioners and contribute to the development of the state.
The week long event which will hold from Monday 8 through Sunday 14 August, 2022, will feature prosperity walk, games, football match, work shop, public lecture, Journalists hangout with stakeholders, luncheon/awards and Thanksgiving service.
The event will begin on Monday 8 August, 2022 with Indoor Games by 10am and a football match between NUJ Football Team and Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Yenagoa Football Team by 4 pm at Opolo Secondary School Field.
Tuesday August 9, indoor games continue from 10am.
Wednesday August 10, workshop programme on Video and Camara coverage by 10 am and journalist hangout with some stakeholders in the state by 4pm, all at the NUJ Press Centre.
Thursday will witness Prosperity Walk with the Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, from 6am.
There will be a Novelty Football Match between NUJ and All Stars International Football Club of Yenagoa on Friday at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa by 4 pm.
Saturday 13 August, 2022 Luncheon/Awards at the NUJ Press Centre by 10am Prompt while Sunday 14 August, 2022 is thanksgiving at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa.
The theme for this year’s lecture is Investigative Journalism; Key for Peace and Development in the Niger Delta to be delivered by Chief Timi Alaibe, former Director, Finance and Administration (NDDC), under the Chairmanship of Hon. Robert Enogha, CEO Ayalla Group of Companies while the Royal Father of the day is HRM. King Bubaraye Dakolo, the Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and Chairman, Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council.
His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State will be the Special Guest of Honour.
About seven Bayelsans who have distinguished themselves in their various careers and business would be honoured during the Luncheon/Awards. A statement by the chairman, Organizing Committee, Comrade Judith Young and Secretary Comrade Ogio Ipigansi urges practicing journalists in the state to participate fully in all scheduled events lined up for the 2022 Press Week.
