Bayelsa SWAN Week to Hold December 7th – 13th, 2024

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Bayelsa State Chapter has put in place a series of activities to mark its 2024 Week from December 7th to 13th.

NAPTIP, Police Deepen Partnership Against Human Trafficking in Bayelsa

A statement by the Chairman of the Planning and Organizing Committee, Mr. Loveday Herbert and Secretary, Tom Amaegbe says the programme of activities will include a 6 Kilometer Road Race, the Clinton Thompson Cup which is a football competition among Media organizations in Bayelsa State, Indoor Games, a Capacity Building Workshop/Training for members and a SWAN Award Night.

According to the statement, the 6 Kilometer Road Race for journalists and media professionals will take place on Saturday, December 7th from the Ekeki Park to the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, while the Clinton Thompson Football Tournament holds from Sunday, December 8th through the morning of Friday, December 13th at the Sports Complex and Hamilton Garden play pitch.

It notes that the Indoor Games which features Scrabble, Chess and Table Tennis holds on Thursday, December 12th at the NUJ Press Center with the Workshop/Training for Sports Journalists is billed for Tuesday, December 10th also at the NIJ Press Center with the Bayelsa State SWAN Awards Night scheduled for Friday, December 13th.
