Douye Diri Attends Funeral of Mother of Arise TV Correspondent, Ovieteme in Kaiama


Senator Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa State alongside his wives, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri and Hon. Justice Patience Ama Diri, today attended the funeral service for Late Mama Priscilla Preye Appah at the Cathedral of St. Mark’s, Kaiama in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Mama Priscilla who died at the age of 87 years is mother of Mr. Ovieteme George of Arise Television.

“Death, according to Shakespeare, is a necessary end that will come when it will come. Today, lying in state before us, is our mother, a mother that you can attribute to Proverbs 30:1.

She has given her best, and today, she is no more. Mama was one of my greatest supporters, and so, on behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the Appah family, and we pray that God will give the Children and the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Governor Diri stated.

Governor Diri was also at Odi community to condole with the families of late Apostle Jonathan Buguma Ikputu, father in-law to the Director of Protocol, Government House, Mr. Goodluck Ede-Alakere.

On the entourage of the Governor were, Hon. Pamoh Werinipre, member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma constituency I, Hon. Wisdom Fafi, member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma constituency 2, Hon.(Mrs) Ebizi Ndiomu-Brown, member representing Sagbama Constituency 3, Hon. Solomon Agwana, Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Bayelsa State Chapter, Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, Secretary to the state government, members of the state executive council, Local Government caucus chairmen of the PDP, Hon.(Mrs) Ebiuwou Koku Obiyai, immediate past member representing Yenagoa Constituency 2 and other top government officials.
