Douye Diri Explains Why Appointment of Commissioners Will Take a Little Time

Senator Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa State explains why the appointment of commissioners into the state executive council will take a little time.

The governor spoke after the maiden edition of the Prosperity Workout session of his second tenure at the Sports Complex, Yenagoa.

He said, “This is the first workout after our inauguration for a second tenure, and even though commissioners are not there for now, I want to assure you that every week we will be holding it. So, let me thank all of you for turning out in the maiden workout of our second term in office.

“I want to assure you that we will not take long to bring our cabinet back because we are not going to create human beings from heaven. It is the same Bayelsa, and we know ourselves. It is not about lobbying, the truth is that you work with people, so you must also consult other people, and that is why it is even going take us the little time that we have to take so that we consult widely, and consider every segment of society and interests.

“You are all aware that this election was not just a PDP election, it was both PDP, APC, and even Labour Party members that worked together, and don’t be surprised if you see some names coming from there, because everybody participated in this election and we will run an all-inclusive government.”
