Dual Citizenship Cannot Be Ground For Petition Against Tinubu, Says Former AGF
Report by Dim Oba – Michael Aondoakaa, former Attorney General of the Federation has said dual citizenship cannot be a ground for petition against President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Since, the commencement of the presidential election tribunal, one burning issues in the public space is the implication of dual citizenship in the laws of Nigeria.
According to the former AGF, “a person who is born in Nigeria but acquires citizenship of another country has the right to contest elections. Dual citizenship is not a ground of the petition filed against the president-elect. The petition cannot be amended”, he explained.
