Governor Diri Calls for Partnership to construct Nembe-Brass Road

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State calls for strategic partnership to construct the Nembe-Brass road. He tasked the federal government for more Federal roads.

Speaking when he received the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola(SAN), and his entourage, at the Governor’s Conference Room, Government House, Yenagoa.

“Firstly I want to appreciate you for the call you gave me that you want to visit project sites in Bayelsa, and very regularly you kept to the date and time, and you are here with us.

Secondly, I would like to appreciate you for your very prompt response to my letter about the Nembe-Brass Federal Road, accepting that the Nembe-Brass road is a federal road and expressing your willingness to ensure that the road is done through the tax relief.

So we are waiting on the Nigerian Agip Oil Company for their favourable response so that we can kick start the construction of the Nembe-Brass road through tax relief, as it is done in several other roads by the Federal Government owned policies on tax relief for infrastructural development.

Let me also use this opportunity to still express my hope and belief to partner with the Federal Government in ensuring that all nooks and crannies of Bayelsa State have accessible roads to their Local Government Headquarters, communities and villages.”
