Kamala Harris Calls For Reauthorization of Violence Against Women Act in US
The Vice President of U.S. Kamala Harris calls for the reauthorization of the Violence against Women Act. This call is against the rising cases of the murder of indigenous women in the U.S.
In a tweet on her official twitter account, Kamala Harris lamented the alarming rate of murder and missing cases of women.
She wrote, ‘Indigenous women are murdered and go missing at an alarming rate. It’s unacceptable’, she said.
Kamala Harris gave insight of what was done when she was in the Senate. Noting that the Joe Biden administration is committed to end violence.
The Vice president said the administration will include the reauthorization of the Violence against Women act. This will serve as legislation to end violence.
Indigenous women are murdered and go missing at an alarming rate. It’s unacceptable. When I was in the Senate, we passed legislation to help address this. Our Administration is committed to ending this violence, including by reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act. #MMIP
