Meet Candidates of 2023 Bayelsa Governorship Elections

As Bayelsa State prepares for the off cycle governorship elections alongside Imo and Kogi States, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has certified these candidates in various political parties to be the Governors and Deputy Governors.
The incumbent Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor are one of the most popular candidates seeking a second tenure in office. With a track record of infrastructural development, urban renewal, youth empowerment and relative peace in the state, the duo are hoping to get elected to continue the prosperity agenda of their first tenure.
Chief Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa State and former Minister of State for Petroleum alongside his deputy, Joshua Maciver are another popular duo and have constituted a strong opposition to the present Government.
