By Jonah Fubara, YENAGOA –Â The Zonal Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) South-South Youth Mobilization Directorate, Hon. Deme Debra Eriye-Pamosoo, has called for stronger political collaboration and grassroots engagement to expand youth participation in the party’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eriye-Pamosoo made the call during a strategic courtesy visit by the Directorate to the Special Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Political Matters, High Chief Collins Cocodia, at his office in Yenagoa.
She said the Directorate was working towards building an inclusive, coordinated and result-oriented youth mobilisation network across the South-South, anchored on strategic partnerships, digital innovation and sustained grassroots engagement.
Leading the delegation, Eriye-Pamosoo outlined the Directorate’s vision, programmes and mobilisation roadmap, stressing the importance of engaging young people and strengthening relationships with political stakeholders at the state and community levels.
She explained that the initiative was designed to create a more organised platform for youth participation in the political process, while mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
The zonal director also announced plans for an APC Youth Leaders Town Hall Meeting and other grassroots engagement programmes aimed at bringing youth leaders together, promoting political participation and strengthening the party’s mobilisation structures.
As part of efforts to expand participation beyond physical engagements, Eriye-Pamosoo unveiled the Directorate’s interactive online portal, www.youthpcc2027.com, urging young people across Bayelsa and other South-South states to register and connect with its activities.
She noted that technology would play an important role in connecting young people, coordinating mobilisation activities and creating opportunities for wider participation in the Directorate’s programmes.
The Bayelsa delegation included the APC State Youth Leader, Hon. Abi A. Morris; Technical Adviser on Community Development, Mobilization and Orientation, Hon. Chief Asari Timipere Kerry; and Secretary of the Bayelsa State Students Management Committee, Comr. Jacob A. Kenneth.
Responding, High Chief Collins Cocodia commended the Directorate’s youth engagement initiatives and assured the delegation of his support.
He pledged to facilitate stronger collaboration between the Directorate and relevant political structures in Bayelsa State, emphasising the need for unity, coordination and collective commitment among party stakeholders.
Cocodia also urged members to work together towards the APC’s electoral objectives in Bayelsa, including the party’s presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly contests.
He specifically called for concerted efforts towards securing support for President Tinubu, the party’s three senatorial candidates, five House of Representatives candidates and all 24 House of Assembly candidates in the state.
The visit forms part of the Directorate’s ongoing stakeholder engagement across the South-South, as it seeks to strengthen relationships with political leaders and establish a coordinated framework for youth mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
