
Players at Bayelsa State Closed Junior Tennis Championship Receive Gifts, Kits on Day 2
As the Bayelsa State Closed Junior Tennis Championship for boys and girls under 12 and 14 enters Day 2, registered players have received gifts and various kits for the game.
This second edition of the Bayelsa State Closed Junior Tennis Championship for under 12 and 14 boys and girls is organised by the Pamo Tennis Classics in conjunction with the Bayelsa State Sports Council.
Speaking to journalists at the games, Jerry Maxwell, Secretary of the Bayelsa State Tennis Association, commended the organisers for hosting the event.
The association scribe noted that the games are helping to groom and sustain the spirit of tennis in the state while discovering new talents that will represent Bayelsa in the future.
He said gift items were given to about 40 registered kids around Yenagoa, which included a bag containing strings, wristbands, and grips.
The players were given breakfast and lunch from Chicken Republic fast food, as well as lots of prizes for the winners.
The head coach of the championship, Anthony Brendan, said he is happy with the quality of players and the skills displayed so far.
Hon. Alfred Koripamo is the sponsor of the Pamo Tennis Classic second edition.
The venue of the championship is the Engr. Gede Tennis Complex, behind Zone 16 Police Headquarters, Yenagoa.
