
Prince (Dr) Doodei Agbabou Week Attends Burial Of Late His Royal Majesty King Joshua Iyekorogha Igbagara At Isoni Town
By Chief Jones Abiri – The Director of Procurement at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prince (Dr) Doodei Agbabou Week, has attended the burial of the late Pa King Joshua Iyekorogha Igbagara, JP, PN, OON—an elder statesman and Traditional Monarch, the Ibenanawei of Ibeni-Mien Oyakiri Kingdom in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Prince (Dr) Week took the opportunity to console the grieving family and prayed for God to grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.
As a serving civil servant in the NDDC and a political leader in his community and in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, his presence at the burial ceremony in Isoni Town was a testament to his commitment to the well-being of the Oyakiri Kingdom.
His gesture of support to the burial, condolence visits, and prayers reflected his empathy and compassion for those affected by the loss.
The event underscored the importance of community service and the need to support one another during times of grief. Prince (Dr) Week also recounted his political journey, noting the critical role the late Pa King Joshua Iyekorogha Igbagara played by offering sincere advice that helped shape his political activities in Bayelsa State.
He encouraged the deceased’s children and other mourners to maintain strong principles in life, just like their late respected father who lived a peaceful and exemplary life.
Prince (Dr) Week’s presence at the burial demonstrated his commitment to serving the people of Oyakiri Kingdom, Bayelsa State, and the entire Niger Delta region, reinforcing his role as a political leader in his community and Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
He has been actively involved in various community initiatives as a politician, highlighting the focus of his boss, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NDDC, Chief (Dr) Samuel Ogbuku, on infrastructural development, empowerment, education, healthcare, sports development, and employment.
“The Managing Director’s dedication to security and to lighting up the Niger Delta region is evident in his efforts to improve the quality of life of the people, which also motivated my visit and participation in the burial process,” he said.
Prince (Dr) Week made himself freely available throughout the ceremony and consistently attended to people’s concerns. He thanked God Almighty for the successful burial of the departed monarch of the kingdom.
