
Why Practising Journalists Need Regular Training
Ruth Gwegwe, the Overseer of Bayelsa State Newspaper Corporation publishers of New Waves, has stressed why practising journalists need regular training.
Speaking at the close of a two-day training workshop organised by the New Waves chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ Bayelsa State Council said it is important to organised quarterly training workshop for practising journalists to stay refreshed on current trend.
She thanked the leadership of the chapel for coming up with the training and encouraged them to make it a regular programme in the corporation in order for journalists to improve their capacity.
Gwegwe thanked the sacrifices of the facilitator, Mr. Etete, a seasoned journalist with a rich wealth of experience for his painstaking efforts to impact his colleagues.
Delivering a vote of thanks, Desire Oruwari, secretary of the New Waves chapel, thanked participants at training and encouraged them to attend the next workshop on Digital News Reporting.
