The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its full timetable for ward, local government, state, zonal congresses and the National Convention, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
In a schedule released by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, notices for the Ward and Local Government Congresses are slated for February 2, 2026. This will be followed by the sale and submission of nomination forms between February 4 and February 9, 2026.
According to the timetable, Ward Congresses will take place on February 18, 2026, while Local Government Congresses are scheduled for February 20, 2026. Appeals arising from both congresses will be considered between February 21 and February 22, 2026.
State Congresses are expected to hold on March 7, 2026, paving the way for the Zonal Congresses across the six geopolitical zones on March 21, 2026.
The internal electoral process will culminate in the APC National Convention, which is scheduled to hold from March 25 to March 28, 2026. The convention will formally conclude the party’s congresses and leadership selection ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party leaders say the early release of the timetable underscores the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and strategic preparation for the forthcoming general polls.
