
Gen. Christopher G Musa (Rtd) Support Group urges members to welcome President Tinubu to Bayelsa
As Bayelsa State government and residents earnestly await President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s one-day official visit to Yenagoa on Friday, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd) Support Group called on its members to come out in their numbers to accord the visiting President a rousing welcome.
Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa on Thursday, the National Coordinator of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd) Support Group, Hon. Ebiki Selemieyeseighe Faithful Hassan said the priority of the group was to mobilize support and resources for the re-election of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, leveraging Gen. Christopher G Musa’s leadership and influence.
Hon. Hassan, a former chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, praised President Tinubu’s
economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, saving Nigeria about $7 billion annually and the unified exchange rates, which has boosted investor confidence and increasing foreign exchange inflows by $3 billion in third quarter of 2023, in addition to the implementation of the tax reforms, aiming to increase tax-to-GDP ratio to 18% by 2026.
On infrastructural development, the former Technical Assistant (TA) to Governor Douye Diri on Special Duties also the President for implementing projects across the length and breathe of the country, citing the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway, Second Niger Bridge, rehabilitation of Port Harcourt refinery, expected to refine 60,000 barrels daily, with on road construction, worth ₦800 billion across the nation.
Hon. Hassan also noted that the launch of the Renewed Hope Housing initiative, targeting 500,000 affordable units, the student loan scheme (NELFUND) for low-income families and distribution of fertilizers and other support initiatives to farmers, were aimed at increasing food production.
The former local government council boss, commended the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda which has enhanced national security, strengthened energy sector, with the signing agreements for 2,000 MW additional power, improved passport services, reducing issuance time to 2 weeks.
While commending Governor Diri for his people oriented legacy projects across the state, pointed out that the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge linking Oporoma, headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government, the 60-megawatt gas turbine independent power plant at Elebele in Ogbia local government area and the 42km Sagbama-Ekeremor road construction and the Polaku Sabageria crossings among others speak volumes of the infrastructure development of agenda of governor.
Speaking on the Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Group, Hon. Hassan explained that: “This support group aims to harness the influence of the Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd) to promote President Tinubu’s vision and policies.”
“the group intends to mobilize retired military officers and veterans to support President Tinubu’s reelection, engage with communities and stakeholders to promote President Tinubu’s achievements and policies, provide strategic support and resources to the President’s reelection campaign
“We have established a national network of supporters and volunteers to organize rallies, town halls, and campaign events, develop and disseminate campaign materials (e.g., posters, flyers, social media content) as well as engage with influencers and opinion leaders to promote President Tinubu’s agenda,” Hon. Hassan explained.
