Bayelsa ADC Celebrates Johnny Derek Tovie on Emergence as National Deputy Chairman
The African Democratic Congress Bayelsa State chapter has congratulated Hon. Johnny Derek Tovie following his emergence as the National Deputy Chairman of the party at the ADC National Convention.
In a statement issued on behalf of the State Executive Leadership, Board of Trustees, stakeholders and members of the party, the Bayelsa chapter described Tovie’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership capacity, dedication and commitment to the ideals of the party.
The statement, signed by Hon. Inieruanam A. Asara, State Publicity Secretary of the ADC in Bayelsa State, noted that the appointment marks a significant milestone not only for Tovie but also for the party faithful across Bayelsa and the country at large.
According to the party, the confidence reposed in the new National Deputy Chairman reflects the trust members have in his ability to strengthen the party’s structure and promote democratic values nationwide.
“Your selection at today’s National Convention marks a significant milestone, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in your leadership abilities,” the statement read.
The Bayelsa ADC leadership also paid tribute to former Senate President David Mark and his National Caretaker Committee for their service to the party, while expressing optimism that Tovie’s emergence would usher in renewed vision, unity and progressive leadership.
Party members said they were confident that his tenure would inspire greater participation among members and reposition the ADC as a credible political alternative in Nigeria’s democratic space.
“We eagerly anticipate the fresh vision and dynamic direction you will bring to the party. Your commitment to unity and progress will undoubtedly inspire our members and strengthen our efforts in promoting democratic values across the nation,” the statement added.
The congratulatory message concluded with prayers for the success of the party, Bayelsa State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The development has been widely welcomed by ADC supporters, who described Tovie’s elevation as a proud moment for Bayelsa State and a boost to the party’s national leadership structure.
