
Bayelsa Government Renders Income and Expenditure for August, September
By Jide Dominic – As s way of demonstrating its continuous commitment to the effective and transparent utilization of funds accruable to Bayelsa state from the federation account and the internally generated income of the state, the state government has rendered the income and expenditure for the months of August and September, 2025.
While giving a comprehensive analysis of the total gross income and receipts for the two months, the Technical Adviser to Gov Douye Diri on Treasury and Accounts, Timipre Seipolo explained that total gross receipt for August stood at #86. 2b while the total expenditure, including capital, recurrent and statutory deductions from source was #82. 90b with a net deficit of #15. 82b.
He gave the total gross receipt for the month of September as #85. 72b, pointing out that the total expenditure for the month gulped #110 and a net deficit of#43b. Earlier, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Strategy and Orientation, Koku Obiyai noted that accountability and transparency remain the cornerstone of the prosperity administration of Gov Douye Diri, which, according to her, informed the reason why the income and expenditure of the state are being presented to the general public on a monthly basis in line with the transparency policy of the state.
She hinted that Gov Douye Diri is committed to completing all ongoing projects across the state, including the Igbogene/AIT ring road, the Gloryland Drive, Yenagoa/ Oporoma road, Ekeremor/Agge road, Ogboinbiri/ ToruOrua road and Polako/Sabagriea road.
She emphasized that other projects such as the ongoing International Stadium, the 9 story state Secretariat complex, provision of employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths across the state, the installation of the 60MW Gas Turbine would also be completed in due course, adding that the state government is equally committed to investing in critical assets that would eventually lead to the transformation of the socio-economic fortunes and growth of the state.
In het words ” Only last month, we signed a memorandum of understanding with a Dubai Company to establish renewable energy so that we can have 24 hours power supply and a functioning metering system ”
She said the aim is to boost rapid and aggresive industrialisation of the state which would strengthen economic growth and ultimately create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths across the state, stressing that the establishment of the manufacturing of Compressed Natural Gas car is presently underway in the state.
