BHIS Refutes Sale of Scholarship Forms
The Management of the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme says its attention has been drawn to an ongoing circulation of sale of online and hardcopy scholarship forms of the Agency.
To set the records straight, the management of the health agency says it has never authorized the sale of any scholarship form, which is outside the mandate and scope of the agency.
A statement by Dr. Zuoboemi Agadah, Executive Secretary of the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme notes that the scheme is a social security programme designed to ensure that all residents of Bayelsa State irrespective of their social status have access to needed healthcare services that are available, affordable, effective, efficient and of good quality and not an agency responsible to give scholarships or employment.
The statement urged the general public to disregard the purported sale of scholarship forms and warned that anyone caught using the name of the agency to defraud the public will be arrested and prosecuted.
The statement further urged the general public to be wary of scammers who are out there to deceive and exploit the public adding that any one in doubt about the activities of scheme should visit the office at the Health Insurance House, Secretariat Complex, Yenagoa for clarity or report any suspicious activities.
