BYSACA calls for support from donor agencies

The Bayelsa state Agency for the Control of AIDS, BYSACA has called on private organizations, multinational companies and international organizations operating within Bayelsa state to support the agency.

Acting Director General of the agency, Dr. Oluwatoyin Azebi made the call during a stakeholders meeting held at the SACA House in Etegwe, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

Dr. Azebi noted that the agency needs financial support to procure new laboratory equipment, testing kits and other working tools to help create more awareness on HIV/AIDS in the state.

She emphasized that there has been new discoveries of Persons living with the virus and these persons are more vulnerable to get infected with other diseases particularly the recent COVID-19.

She added that the agency was set up to provide services to these persons and ensure a zero tolerance for HIV/AIDS hence the need for more funds to achieve its objective.

The SACA boss appeals to donor agencies to help the agency with funds that would save more lives.
