NUJ Bayelsa Holds Pre-Inauguration Dinner Lecture to Honour Minister, Others
Chairman of the Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Samuel Numonengi, has concluded plans to wrap up his two-term tenure as NUJ Chairman with a Dinner-Symposium to appreciate deserving stakeholders who have made his six year stint as the NUJ helmsman a worth while experience.
The event is billed to hold on the eve of the Bayelsa State Triennial Delegate Conference, on Wednesday October 30th, 2024, at the Golden Tulip Resort, Government House, Onopa, Yenagoa by 4pm.
The Keynote Lecture is to be taken by a renowned environmental rights activists, Comrade Morris Alagoa, on the theme – “Media and Sustainable Environment in the Niger Delta.’
The event is in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Oil) led by the Honourable Minister of State, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, who is an Honouree and Special Guest of Honour alongside His Excellency, the Governor of Bayelsa State Senator Douye Diri.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei is billed to Chair the occasion, while Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhurudjakpo and the NUJ National President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, to be represented by the Vice-President, Zone F, Comrade Opaka Dokubo, are Guests of Honour.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Douye Diri, Mr Daniel Alabrah, is to serve as the Chief Host.
These details were made known via a press release by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Fiezibe Osain who doubles as Director General of Team Peace, the Ogio Ipigansi for NUJ Chairman Campaign Organisation.
The statement enjoins all media professionals and friends of the press to attend as major stakeholders of the NUJ including all past state council executive and chapel chairmen and secretaries as well as other deserving dignitaries such as the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, shall be appreciated for their unflinching support and honoured with souvenirs by the outgoing NUJ Chairman, Comrade Samuel Numonengi.
