Rivers APC: Rainbow Coalition Reconciliation Focused On Good Governance
By Dim Oba, LAGOS – The All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Rivers State, Chibuike Ikenga, has dismissed suggestions that the Rainbow Coalition’s reconciliation efforts are a political strategy ahead of future elections, saying the initiative is primarily aimed at promoting good governance and unity in the state.
Ikenga said the reconciliation process was designed to bring political stakeholders together, bridge existing differences and create a more stable environment for governance and development.
He maintained that the initiative should not be interpreted as a campaign gimmick or an attempt to gain electoral advantage, stressing that the welfare and interests of Rivers people should remain the priority.
According to him, genuine reconciliation must go beyond political calculations and translate into cooperation, stability and improved governance.
Ikenga urged political leaders and stakeholders across the state to embrace the process and put aside their differences in the interest of Rivers State.
He said a peaceful and united political environment would provide the necessary foundation for the state to achieve meaningful development.
The APC spokesperson further reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to dialogue and constructive engagement, noting that governance and the wellbeing of citizens should take precedence over partisan interests.
