Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary with Over 10.9 Million Votes
Abuja – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election after securing a landslide victory in the nationwide exercise.
Declaring the result on Saturday, the Returning Officer for the election, Pius Anyim, announced that President Tinubu polled a total of 10,999,162 votes to defeat his challenger, Stanley Osifo, who garnered 16,503 votes.
Anyim, while presenting the final tally, stated that the election was conducted in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, describing the exercise as peaceful and transparent.
“With the total votes scored, I hereby declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected candidate of the APC for the forthcoming presidential election,” he announced.
The overwhelming victory further consolidates Tinubu’s hold on the ruling party ahead of the next general election, with party faithful and supporters celebrating the outcome across several states.
Party leaders who monitored the process commended members for their orderly conduct and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to internal democracy.
Political observers say the result reflects the strong backing President Tinubu continues to enjoy within the party structure despite ongoing national political and economic debates.
Supporters at the venue erupted in cheers shortly after the declaration, waving party flags and chanting solidarity songs in celebration of the president’s victory.
