US to Invest $197m in Communities to Prevent Wildfire

Report by Victor DeGreat – The United States, US government have announced plans to invest about $197m in communities to help them in the prevention, preparedness, and resilence of wildfire.

Kamala Harris, vice President of the United States made this known on her official twitter handle on Monday.

According to her, the fund is part of the $7 billion being invested to tackle the rapidly growing threat of wildfire.

The tweet reads, “Today, I am announcing $197 million to help communities invest in wildfire prevention, preparedness, and resilience. This funding is part of more than $7 billion we are investing to tackle the rapidly growing threat of wildfires and build wildfire resilient communities”, she said.
