VIO Mayors Coordinator Presents 2022 Action Plan to National Conference of Traffic Officers

In his bid to fast track safety on the road, the newly appointed National Coordinator of VIO Mayors, Dr Yusuf John Suberu has presented the 2022 VIO Structure and Action Plan to the National Conference of Directors/Traffic Officers of the Federation, Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIO.

Making the presentation at the National Secretariat in Abuja, Dr Suberu said his team had developed a comprehensive structure and action plan for VIO operations in Nigeria that will cater for the needs of vehicle and road users as well as officials.

He noted that as part of the action, VIO Mayors took into consideration the ugly menace of traffic congestion in major cities in Nigeria and made recommendation on how to resolve the teething issue with minimal cost implications.

The CEO of Ize & Onize Group of Company Limited lamented the dysfunctional structure of VIO across the country, where the commands are not properly structured and defined.

Dr Suberu revealed that the 2022 Structure and Action Plan came with clear-cut structural policies in accordance with global best practices and standards as the document is a well thought out actionable policy that will aid effective and efficient operations of the VIO.

Receiving the structure and action plan, Engineer Paul Bepeh, National Chairman, National Conference of Directors/Traffic Officers of the Federation, VIO thanked members of VIO Mayors for good job within a short period of their appointment.

VIO Mayors is the voluntary arm of the Vehicle Inspection officers, VIO Unit, made up of individuals of high-level integrity and well respected in their community with the interest of vehicle worthy for safety on the road.
