Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state has expressed dissatisfaction over the large number of abandoned Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC projects littered all over the state.

Governor Diri described the over one thousand abandoned projects of the NDDC as unacceptable.

Some of the abandoned projects include Angalabiri/Ebedebiri/Toru-Orua Sure Protection Project captured in the NDDC 2020 budget, Sabagreia/Polaku bridge and the Akenfa bridge among others.

The governor came out with this during the visit of the Interim Administrator for NDDC, Dr Aqua Effiong in Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah reported that the state government had noted that lack of collaboration of the commission and states has led to the duplication and abandonment of projects.
