Covid-19 Pandemic: The Fear of the Unknown

By Solomon Olali-Igabo

We are in a generation where the systems of the world seem to be failing and falling rapidly. There is also the degeneration in the health of the inhabitants of the earth but our hope and safety are in God alone.

Currently, the world is facing a serious health challenge following the global corona-virus pandemic commonly called COVID-19 where the notorious disease is prevalent in the advanced Nations with alarming death tolls on daily basis.

The disease said to have emanated or originated from China (Asia) before spreading its ugly head to the rest of the world. However, China the host nation is reportedly recovering and recuperating from the ailment and her economy back on track whereas the rest of the continents are running helter-skelter from the devastating pandemic.

The worst affected countries are United States of America, Italy, Spain, France, United Kingdom (Britain) and Germany with victims in their numbers.

Is corona-virus a natural or manmade disease? Although, it was alleged that China is responsible for this deadly disease having breed and infected bats with the virus, the vectors flown to different continents of the world and eaten up by reptiles and other creatures thus spreading the virus as was made to believe.

Sadly, the corona-virus seems to have no confirmed medical remedy or cure rather than preventive measures and observations. Since the global outbreak of corona-virus; this causes illness such as cold, fever and difficulty in breathing. Corona-virus spreads via droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes and their droplets lands in the mouth or noses of nearby people. People could also catch corona-virus by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. What is the source of this disease?

Here in Africa especially Nigeria is having its fair share as the populace and governments at all levels are living in fear, anxiety, panic and tension coupled with the lockdown order in respective states thereby worsen the situation.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) are in dilemma and confusion over this dreaded disease without treatment. What a tragedy!

Social subvention or palliatives are yet to get to the vulnerable class since the outbreak of the deadly disease as hunger and starvation keeping biting harder and harder in several homes and families. The disease has affected the social, political, economic and even religious circles.

In fact, the disease is a respecter of nobody or class and tribe. Perhaps the corona-virus pandemic is part of the signs of the end times as revealed from the Holy Scriptures!
What Nigerians keep receiving from NCDC on daily basis on their handset phones are: “Take responsibility! Avoid gatherings and Physical contact. Practice social distancing by leaving two metres distance from others to prevent corona-virus spread” “Wash your hands frequently with soap under running water. Avoid touching your face and high-contact surfaces to prevent corona-virus spread. Prevent corona-virus by cleaning all surfaces frequently. High-contact surfaces include door handles, stair rails and tables”. “Corona-virus spreads easily from person to person when people gather together. Stay at home to protect yourself and others”.

“Returning travelers to Nigeria; stay home and avoid contact with people including family for 14 days”.

From all indication, the world is helpless following the corona-virus pandemic that have claimed so many lives across races or tribes as the disease keep spreading unabated without known cure or treatment. Lives are at stake and uncertainty looming around who might be the next victim tomorrow!

It is most worrisome that some travelers and families are been trapped or locked down in foreign countries and cannot return to their own countries because of the killer disease. They are disconnected and only time will tell how the world will survive it. What is currently happening is that some hidden powers in the world want to push God aside and take His position shows that man can predict but cannot control event forever.

For instance, the works of D.D. Lawrence, Nostradamus, Adolphus Hitler, and Benito Mussolini among others can fail, but Jesus Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith reigns forever.

Interestingly, in the Book of Job chapter 22:29 says “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up”. This is indeed a lesson for world leaders and their allies to note that the power of God is superior to any power on earth. All other powers can fail but the power of God is above the powers of hell.

According to Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor (Dr) Paul Enenche stated that; a major mystery of the Blood of Jesus is that it has the capacity to save the children of God and suffocate the devil and his agents at the same time.

The blood of Jesus also has the capacity to give immunity against destruction to a person.

Necessity is the mother of invention! Jesus is the only medicine we need and can cure our disease and sickness. If you doubt it then dare corona-virus that has put the world on standstill or lockdown. In Isaiah chapter 60:2 says “darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His ;glory shall be seen upon thee”.

Hopefully, only God has solution or answers to the problem of man, here on earth and in heaven. He has the capacity to treat and kill every disease or ailment that has defied medical remedy and cure. I believe in Jesus! Only Jesus can save halleluiah and no other way!

Therefore, leaders and followers should return to righteousness and worship the Most High in truth and in spirit to avert the holocaust or COVID-19 of this generation and others in the near future.
