Delta 2023: Pressure Mounts on Dr Rufus Ebegba to Contest Governorship
A Political Support Group, Delta Coalition for Change– 2023, (DCC-2023) has urged the Director General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Dr Rufus Ebegba to declare his interest to serve Deltans in the next general elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, signed by the Deputy – Convener of DCC -2023, Amb, Emesakoru Enifome , he said membership of the group cuts across the Twenty Five Local Government Areas of Delta State, stressing the call became necessary considering his glaring democratic potentials to salvage the state out of doldrums.
The statement reads in part: “the destiny of Delta State as a nascent democracy under the present dispensation can only achieve its viable potentials if handled by a prudent, purposeful and transparent leader in the person of Dr. Rufus Ebegba.
“Deltans are clamoring to have Dr. Rufus Ebegba as our next Governor considering his giant strides at the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), which he will definitely replicate if given the mandate to serve Delta. We’re in dire need of a stable and virile Delta and Dr.Rufus Ebegba serves as the only rallying point in launching Delta back to greatness.”
“Over the years, Delta has been denied the right leaders whose characters appeal to the generality of Deltan’s as that of Dr. Rufus Ebegba, who by all standards has raised the bar in terms of purposeful governance in National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA).”
