Justice Ariwoola Sworn-in as Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria

With the resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN under controversial circumstances, the country witnessed the swearing-in of an Acting CJN.

President Muhammadu Buhari swears-in the second in line, Justice Ariwoola from Oyo State as the 18th Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN subject to the confirmation of the Senate.

According to reports, Justice Tanko resigned on health grounds without serving out his term as CJN. However there allegations of poor welfare judges under his tenure.
