‘This morning, the landlord knocked several times on my door, to remind me on the expiration of the house rent. The rent had been due for three months now. I have been experiencing serious business breakdown’, Sister Mary lamented as Bro Goodnews listened with patience.
‘My fear is the shame, the landlord brought to me this morning, and the one he has promised me. He said, he will pack me out of the house at midnight. He would not allow me stay a minute pass 12am in his house, once, the seven days quit notice expires’, he bragged while hitting the door with his palm.
Bro Goodnews looked at her and smile. He opens his bible to Psalm 37:19 and reads out to her ‘They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.’
He made her to read the bible passage with him twice. Than, counseled her to continue to read the passage night and day. ‘Pray with the wordings of the scripture in prayers morning and night in faith, and trust God for divine intervention to remove this shame’, he encouraged her.
Bro Goodnews held her hands and prayed with her fervently quoting the bible verse.
A day to the expiration of the seven day quit notice, Sister Mary danced to Bro Goodnews’ office with so much excitment and jubilation. Bro Goodnews left the bible he is reading on table and joined her to dance.
After about two minutes, Sister Mary gave him the envelope. She had waved the envelop while dancing, Bro Goodnews looked at the envelope, opened it and brought out the documents in it. He screamed and shouted ‘Praise thy Lord’.
The good news is Sister Mary had been blessed with a newly furnished three-bedroom apartment in an estate. Indeed, God removes shame from those who trust in His word.
