Tinubu is Not President-Elect, Says Datti-Baba
Report by Victor DeGreat – Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed, Labour Party, LP Vice President candidate says Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not President-elect, when there has been a constitutional breach, there’s a clear interpretation of section 134 and INEC’s interpretation of section 134.
Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed made the assertion during an interview on a national television on Tuesday morning, he added that Asiwaju Tinubu is not President-elect, what he holds is a dud certificate adding that the certificate is an assault on the constitution.
In his words “we cannot have a President-elect when there has been a constitutional breach, there’s a clear interpretation of section 134 and INEC’s interpretation of section 134.
“The electoral act which the lawyers are working on, is a process document and the constitution is a different document entirely.
“A constitutional breach is a big issue, it is a mar or break issue. We are not just talking about losing the election. We are talking about a constitutional breach there is no president-elect; I beg to said, the standard meaning of Section 134; there is a clear interpretation and there is the INEC interpretation.
“By that interpretation, we don’t have a president-elect in Nigeria today. Alhaji Tinubu in holding dub certificate, it will bounce. You cannot swear-in a President who’s certificate of return assaults the constitution.
“The constitution is the platform, which the presidency rests”, Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed explained.
