Bayelsa United Correspondents Chapel Calls for Immediate Release of Abducted Osahon, Guardian Correspondent in Ughelli
Following the recent abduction of Guardian Newspaper Correspondent in Bayelsa State, Mr Julius Osahon and others, the United Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa state council has called for the immediate and unconditional release of the Journalist.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the chapel, Comrade James Akan and its secretary, Comrade Chris Mark and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa further called for effective collaboration among security agencies in both Delta and Bayelsa states in ensuring that all the victims in the kidnappers den return to their families unhurt.
The statement also urges all traditional and community leaders in Ughelli in Delta state where the dastardly and criminal act were carried out to assist security agencies with useful information that can lead to the arrest and subsequent prosecution of the kidnappers operating in the area.
