Governor Ayade Advocates for Southern President in 2023

Governor of Cross Rivers State, Ben Ayade said it is the turn of the Southern part of Nigeria to produce the next president in 2023 after the tenure of the present administration.

Governor Ayade came out with this when Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid him a visit at the Government House in Calabar, the Cross Rivers State capital.

He explained that the idea of zoning came about to ensure an egalitarian and equitable power sharing in the country stressing that zoning is a provision of the constitution to ensure balancing as it should not be about ethnic or regional domination.

He added that with the great potentials in Nigeria in terms of oil and gas deposits it was regrettable that the country is still importing petroleum products to meet its local demands.

Governor Ayade who described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a trans-generational leader and political strategist said he has the capacity, exposure and experience to lead Nigeria.

He noted that history would be kind to the All Progressive Congress, APC National leader as a man who propelled the party into power in 2015 stressing that the APC leader was a cornerstone to the success of the party over the years.

Responding, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a two term governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the APC who is a leading presidential aspirant told Governor Ben Ayade that there is no collision in their desires.

Asiwaju Tinubu promised to work with Cross Rivers State government for the full development of the port if elected as the country’s next president in 2023.

Senator Tinubu was accompanied on the visit by the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Danguje, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, former governor of Nasarawa state and Senator Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno state and Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.
