How God Turned My Broken Past Into a Message of Hope — Pastor Adeboye
Standing before a massive congregation at the Holy Ghost Congress 2025, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), opened up about a past he says he is not proud of, using his personal journey to remind believers that no life is beyond God’s mercy and transforming power.
Speaking with humility and deep reflection, Pastor Adeboye openly acknowledged that he is not proud of his past, but grateful for the grace of God that completely transformed his life. He told thousands of worshippers that his journey stands as undeniable proof that no one is beyond God’s saving power.
The revered cleric revealed that many people who knew him in his early years never imagined he could be saved, much less become a pastor. Challenging the congregation, he asked thought-provoking questions aimed at strengthening faith and hope: “Is there anyone in your family too far gone for God to save? Can God not turn anyone into a vessel of honour?” He then added candidly, “Many never believed I could be saved, and even fewer thought I would become a pastor. I am not proud of my past; if anyone could be bad, I was.”
Pastor Adeboye stressed that God delights in rewriting human stories, turning shame into testimony and weakness into strength. He encouraged believers not to give up on loved ones who appear lost, emphasizing that divine transformation often begins when situations seem hopeless.
Using his personal experience as a message of encouragement, the RCCG leader reminded Christians that salvation is not earned by background or good behavior but by grace. He urged attendees to trust God completely and allow Him to work through their lives, regardless of their past mistakes.
The message stirred deep emotions across the auditorium, as many worshippers responded with prayers, tears, and renewed commitment to faith. The Holy Ghost Congress 2025 continues with teachings centered on restoration, grace, and the assurance that with God, every past—no matter how dark—can produce a glorious future.
